Rental Contracts:
You must register your rental contract with the government office in order
for it to be supported by Belgian law. You need to take a photocopy of
your contract plus the original with you and it costs around 30 euros
to register it (25 euros for the "fiscale zegels" (official
stamps) and 5 euros fee).
If you live in any of the Brugge postcodes, the registration office is
at Gulden Vlieslaan 36 (near Ezelpoort) - and is open Monday-Friday 8-12
(come in before 11.30) - different districts are on different floors of
the building; check out the signs when you get there.

Be sure to take your rental contract with you, as well as any correspondence
to and from the landlord.
It costs 12 euros to join for a year - pay the first time you go - then
you'll be sent a registration letter and number that you have to take
with you each subsequent time you go there
